Beret and Scarf
Come join our local Fiber Artist, Susan Forbes and learn to more with wool than just knit. She is an accomplished and sought after instructor for many of her talents and sells her hand-dyed and felted creations in boutiques, fairs, and craft shows across the Midwest. Don't miss this unique opportunity to join her at knitch - you will leave with a wonderful creation and a smile on your face - we promise!
Class Particulars:
Make your own One-of-a-Kind, cobweb felted scarf. Cobweb felting is a technique that uses delicate tuffs of fiber which is then locked into place by gently felting the fibers. The technique makes a beautiful material which is as light as a cobweb but has the drape of a heavier fabric. Both novice and experienced felters will enjoy making this all-season scarf. As a bonus, we will also wet felt a beret to match the scarf! Come and join us and create your own piece of art.
You will need to purchase 4 ozs of Fairy Yarnmother’s hand-dyed merino wools (pick your favorite colors - Fiber Braids available at knitch), wear old clothes and bring some old towels to the class. If you do not see the colors of fiber you want at knitch, Susan will be bringing additional braids to the class. You are welcome to bring any feltable embellishments you want to include.
